| In 2017, a dear friend got a call from DHS to pick up her nieces’ kids (ages 4-11) or they were going into foster care. This addiction story is as desperate as most. My friend was the only family-member suited for the job and despite her and the husband’s plan to retire and move to NC that year, she said yes. Her husband left her, and she has been raising them ever since.
For the past 3 years, at the end of Hydro Drive the community has come together to dance, eat, and celebrate with proceeds going to this family. COVID changed that in the summer of 2020. This has been a tough year on them as we usually raised up to $4000 each season just as the kids returned to school.
This year in 2020 there was no party, and no funds. So the idea of this site was born and some of the proceeds of each sale will go to the foster family.
